Services

Our firm focuses on estate planning, which includes the following:

Wills

A legal document with instructions on what to do with one's assets after ones death.

Trusts

Provides one planning document full of instructions for your care and the care of your loved ones.

Power of Attorney

It gives its holder all rights over your assets. You need to be careful in naming someone as your "attorney in fact."

Living Will or Health Care Directive

It gives guidelines for your physician to follow, as well as clarifies your intent as to life sustaining procedures.

Power of Attorney for Health Care

It gives its holder only the right to make decisions regarding medical attention and services. The holder cannot use this power of attorney for any other purpose.

Probate

Probate is the court-supervised process of authenticating a last will and testament if the deceased made one. It includes locating and determining the value of the decedent's assets, paying their final bills and taxes, then distributing the remainder of the estate to their rightful heirs or beneficiaries.

DocuBank

DocuBank provides hospitals with immediate access to your healthcare directives and emergency information, 24/7/365. Our office offers DocuBank as part of a client service package to ensure that your living will, health care power of attorney and other important medical information will be available at the hospital when needed. Ask us how to obtain this service

No estate plan is ever the same as client's concerns and goals vary. A trust is most often the tool of choice in meeting those goals. The creation of a trust needs customization. At Pittman Law Group we are able to create a trust to meet your needs. Some of the trusts that we  utilize include:

Guidebook Planning process™

All of your estate planning documents will be put into an easy to handle and easy to read GUIDEBOOK™ format. All of the instructions about what you or your back-up crew need to know and do when things happen can be at your fingertips in your own Guidebook™.

Legal Line IRA Shield Trust™

The US Supreme Court has ruled that an inherited IRA is not protected from creditors (Clark v Rameker).  If you want to protect your beneficiaries against loss to the bad guys, you will want to consider naming a special retirement trust as the beneficiary of your IRA.

More important than the taxation issue, the reason to name the Legal Line IRA Shield Trust as beneficiary of your retirement account is to provide personal protections (creditor and even divorce protection) for your beneficiaries.

Pet planning

Our pets and animal friends mean so much to us, but most of us will never take the time to plan properly for them. Planning for our pets may be as simple as putting a provision in our durable power of attorney and our will or as complex as creating a separate pet trust to hold and benefit our friends. Imagine your dog with her own brokerage account! Who knows, maybe she would do better than you have done picking investments. learn more

It's all about you

We can rattle off all kinds of technical stuff and try to dazzle you with legalese. But why? You have to assume that we know the law and how it applies in different circumstances. What we don't know is you and your concerns. Tell us your story and teach us about you; we'll help you with some really neat legal solutions.
